As a playtester for "Silver Screen Sleuths," I can confidently say this is one of the most engaging detective games I've encountered. We tested it with a group of 3, and it took us about 2 and a half hours to solve. The story is exceptionally catchy. The puzzles are challenging yet fun, providing a rewarding experience for those who love intricate detective work.
Two girls (both 11yo) loved the independence of this escape room. It took them a little while to get started, and they got hung up when it was not intuitive to use the camera app on the tablet for one of the puzzles (hopefully this is not a spoiler). But after that, it was smooth sailing and a huge confidence builder for both girls. They had a lot of fun! The phone call kinda creeped them out, but that was part of the fun, haha!
The best part was figuring out the different challenges that get you through the level but the hardest part was figuring out problems 2 and 3 it took me forever to figure it out those two problems but it was so much fun!!
We stayed in for Halloween this year, and this was PERFECT! We did this activity with two adults and a 7 year old, and everyone was able to help! We did the “play along” version, and needed a few hints, but finished with just a little time to spare! THANK YOU for the fun story and experience!
I did this twice this week with two multiage (8-11) remote learning groups and they loved it. Both groups were able to solve the challenges in under an hour with minimal help.
To be honest, I'm pretty disappointed. Considering the cost, I expected much more variety in the puzzles. 3 challenges, although challenging, isn't enough in my opinion. I intended on using this for my classroom, but having all of the puzzles able to fit onto a single table isn't ideal. Not enough bang for my buck, I'm afraid ?
